Default Lower ball joint removal. Help

Need some help on this please. I have an 85 and they need to be pressed out and new one pressed in. I am ready to do it but I cannot figure out how to use the ball joint press. It looks like a jenga set. Also is it pressing it down or up to remove?

Here try this video -

It will give you an idea on how to do it and use the ball joint press.
Good luck. Oh and you are pressing down and out just like the video.

So just to clarify, to remove the old one I want to push it out down from the top?
and to install the new one I would push it up from the bottom?

I have read a couple of threads and they are saying I have to take the lower arm off the to press out the BJ? is this true? or can it be pressed out with the C clamp style press while the arm is still attached?

Many people take out the arm to remove and replace the ball joint using a hydraulic shop press. But as per the service manual for my '96, you can use the C clamp style ball joint press to remove and install the ball joint. I highly recommend the purchase of a factory service manual for your year as it will prove invaluable for much of this information. It has diagrams, service procedures - including the removal and installation of ball joints, and diagnostic trees for many problems.
