You probably can't go wrong with either one. Both Koni and Bilstein make very good shocks. I'm running Bilstein - only because when I did the suspension - I was able to send my OEM shocks to Bilstein and have them revalved to the DRM specs - for significantly less than new shocks.

I have tried both, I prefer the Bilsteins.
But it depends on whether you like a cruiser or something very firm.

The Koni is my preference. Not the best for those that have lowered the ride height.
Bilstein Sports are a good compromise. Non-adjustable.

Bilsteins are a very good shock. For the street that is what I would use. And I do on my street 96. But for track and autox I prefer the Koni's.

Yeah well, if you don't know how old the shocks are..... replace them now.
Bilsteins are your best bet for performance and price.

If I am not mistaken the only Konis available for early C4s are the non adj reds.

I had a set of Red adjustable.
They make 'em for the 86.

Bilstein on my lowered 96 and it rode great considering how low it was.Handled well also.My 00 mustang gt has them also and they are saving the ride from the crappy lowering springs installed by the previous owner.

What does it cost to have my bilstein's rebuilt?
