Default Climate Control

86 Temperature Control. I can ramp the temperature set point up to 90 degrees and the temperature responds properly. Problem is, I can't ramp the temperature back down again. It just sits on 90. The only way to get it back is to disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect. But same problem. If I leave it alone it's fine but once I decide to take the temperature up, it stays at that setpoint. Same for the AC, can't get the digital to go lower, just higher. Any ideas?

So the button doesn't work? You might need to pull the unit and clean the contacts under the rubber boots on the board. I had to do that with mine and everything works great now. Found out my R12 Freon is empty too... ouch

That sounds possible since the "warm" button takes the temp up and it's the "cool" button that refuses to lower the setpoint. Thanks. Good luck on finding R12, I gave up and converted to 134a. Everyone said it wouldn't be as cold but mine will freeze you out.

Mine has been good for about 8 years, since cleaning contacts.

Good post with pics
