noticied some leaks on the loor under the vette, noticed a hole that looks like a plug belongs there just pas the oil bolt any ideas of what this is not sure if it is a plug or a bolt anybody HELP

looks like the transmission pan. The 700R4 did not come with a drain plug but their is a retrofit kit. And yes, their needs to be fluid in that pan.
I'd guess that it's the convertor cover and there's no plug there and there's no "retro fit or should there be fluid in that pan/cover". If it's oil you've rear main seal issues likely OR you've a leak top-side rear of engine and it's finding it's way to the vicinity. The other possibility is a front pump seal leak at the transmission. Which is it on the floor? ATF or engine oil?
the pan was definatley empty just bought it last month and had my mechanic do the fluid should there be some kind of plug there? never seen a hole in a empty pan attached to an engine...just saying...lol

Reason: and the oil was from a not so tight oil drain plug
no plug, that is the torque converter cover, it has a hole in it to let any oil that leaks out of the front seal of the tranny to alert you of issues. there is normally no oil or any other fluid in there unless you have a problem
