Default Mystery sensor

This sensor is dangling on top on my driver's side valve cover. A vacuum line goes to the intake, and another was probably supposed to attach to the close end as seen in the picture.

Any idea what it is and where it goes? The Evap canister appears to be bypassed, so I'm guessing it may be related to that or the air pump.

The EGR solenoid should mount under the rear thermostat housing bolt.
