Year of car? What are the codes? HAve you pulled them yet? You can go to places like AutoZone and they will read the codes for free. Get them and post them here.
Problems that cause the SES light to come on will keep setting codes and turning the light on. Fix the problems and light goes off!

You can also purchase a hand held scanner for about $50-60. These cheaper ones will only display the code and allow you to clear them. If you take the car to a shop, the codes are stored in history and the shop will be able to read them with the more advanced scanning tools. Your car is OBDII by the way.
Thanks LT4 I will get one. The code is for a charcoal filter up behind the back wheel PITA to get at I just by pass it already did my smog test for this year. One more and no more tests.
