Default It Will Not Come Off!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, i have the FSM, Yes i have researched all the Forums on the Removal of the Power Antenna, still it will not drop down. This is a 93 convertible. There must be something other than the 2 10mm studs that keep this unit from coming out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried everything. Please help if you can.

Did you try romoving the rubber grommet from the top of the antenna and taking the nut off that is under there holding the antenna into the quarter panel........You can usually get the nut off with a set of needle nose pliers , stick the tips down into 2 of the 4 grooves and turn.I have a socket with the correct end on it ,that come with my new antenna cable years ago but the pliers should work....WW

Yes, but there is no "nut" on top of the antenna. The top piece is totaly round with no place for a wrench. I've tried using needle nose pliers to turn it with no avail. I bought a new mast from AntennamastRus and Chuck said all i had to do was drop the antenna motor, then remove the nut holding the antenna, but the motor will not come off the top stud?

Hm, strange.
I did just the same operation for a week ago.
Only 2 small bolts on the bottom of the antenna bracket and a steady grip around the antennaunit and pull it towards the front of the car. When it slipps out of the bottom of the bracket you start pulling the unit down. Maybe could help a bit with some oil on the rubber from above.

Are you talking about the 2 7mm bolts at the very bottom? I did not try those 2. One had a ground wire attached.

Well I managed to get the new cable installed and ops check was almost good. The smallest section will not come clear out when extended. I think I'll open it back up and pull out a bit more cable. I shoved quite a bit into that take up assembly. Maybe too much. Does anyone know for sure? The other possibility is mayby that tip section is sticky, causing the unit to shut off early. . I lubed it with WD40 that helped make it move bit but it still is a bit stiff going in and out.
