Default 1986 4+3 Neutral Shifter Position Limited Play

We just put a new clutch in the car and after re-assembly the shifter side to side action feels very limited. The car goes in/out of all gears and reverse fine, but neutral feels like there should be more play. Any ideas? We've looked at the shift levers and hangers under the car and believe they are all in the correct position. It's been awhile since it was driven so I cannot remember how much horizontal slop should be expected.

Any insight is apprecaited.

Thanks!

Looks like that's about what we've got. Took for a drive last night and other than have to mash the clutch pedal to get into each gear things felt fine.

Is there any adjustment to the clutch since it's hydraulic?

Bleed it. Was the flywheel re-surfaced or did you put in a new one ? If you resurfaced it and it's too thin, the whole deal is out of alignment, you may need to adjust the pivot stud in the bellhousing. If you put in a new non stock flywheel that may have the same problem if it's thicker or thinner.
