Drove the car today. Radio was working properly. Played a CD. Switched to the radio and it sounds like it's between stations. Push a station button, the display changes to the correct setting but the sound stays the same. I can switch to the other stations and still hear the same distant radio station. It sounds like it's stuck between stations as it's unclear. It's playing the same station no matter what station the tuner shows. Any ideas? The CD player still works just fine.
Actually you have a 3 part system. The radio head has the ***** you turn. The actual electronics are in a metal box under the passenger end of the dash. Each of the 4 speakers has its own amplifier. It sounds as if your problem is in one of the first two mentioned.
My suggestion is to get a new stereo and new speakers and wires, and maybe a nice amp. Then you will have a system with new technology like HD FM, Pandora, Sirius, and a USB port for a flash drive with 4000 songs on it on the face of the radio, with new, not dried out speakers.
I got mine from Dennis at Double D Mods. He is the C5 radio guru on the C5 forum but also sells stuff for C4s and they have great customer service.
