Can't comment on the MAF, but WOT = Wide Open Throttle

You mean youre considering removing the screens in your current MAF sensor or buying a Granatelli unit?

MAF mods aren't going to do anything to your ride. It's time to think about catback, 1.6 rockers and springs, cam, headers.

Well i decided to remove the screen in the oem unit & see what happens. The screen came out with little or no problem and could be replaced if needed. I only had a chance to drive a couple of miles it's been raining all day. Seems to be better so far ,will give it a few more test drives. But if no problems arise I'll keep it out. The only problem i had was i forgot to hook up the maf sensor and got a service eng light. Once i had that corrected everything was ok. The screen was actually very easy to remove and like i said it's all in one piece and not damaged. :yesnod:

I was thinking of doing just that.

I don't think I'll ever take the car to the track, just a summer driver, cause of the weather up here. Of the things you mentioned I don't think I would change the cam. Cat backs sound like a good idea to me, what are 1.6 rr and what would that accomplish? or is that something that you would need to do with the cam change? Is that something I couod do myself?
thanks

1.6 roller rockers (1.6 rr) increase the effective lift and duration of the installed cam (vs factory 1.5 rockers). The factory rockers are stamped and aren't even 1.5, more like 1.4. The roller part is that there are bearings at the pivot and valve tip, lowering friction. Between the lower friction and the higher effective lift and duration, you'll see about 10 HP at the rear wheels. This mod requires the factory springs be changed at the same time the 1.6 rr are added. Total cost is ~$350 in parts. If you're a DIY kind of Vette owner, it's easy to do yourself.

I took mine out about a year ago and I have never had any problems. I have since put about 15000 miles on the car. I have driven to Texas, twice and Florida twice from North Carolina and New Jersey once. Any little bit helps in my book.

How long would something like this take? And where would you get a procedure . Or is it straight forward once valve covers have been removed?

I used the Factory Service Manual and the Haynes manual as my references. The hardest thing is learning to lash hydralic lifters. Takes a little work, but it's worth it.

In you're opinion what would be better to do the cat back or the 1.6 rr & springs? I just looked under the hood do you have to remove the alt bracket to get the drivers side cover off?

I'm not smart enough to know what's better. Me, I'd do both, but I'm a terminal case. Long term you'll want to do both anyway, let your budget decide.

Yea, it's a bit of a pain, but worth it.
