Default Horsepower and Torque

If you were to increase your cars horsepower by say 50 using intakes, cam, headers etc does the torgue also increase? If so is there a way to measure what that increase would be?

That depends on what components you use, some combinations will make you loose power, not gain anything at all, or just shift you up the power band. My combination did this, I need new heads to make the combo work. :/

You can also loose torque. For instance, the Mini Ram will gain peak horsepower, but loose peak torque.

Exactly. Valve lift, head velocity, compression, timing....those things will gain you cylinder pressure, or torque.

Duration, large ports, headers, etc increase hp by increasing RPM and usually, at the expense of some torque.

Combine high cylinder pressures, efficient heads/induction and tune and you can have both. AKA Gen III and up SBC's
