Strange pke problem
Here’s what I’ve done so far
Changed the fob battery with 3 new batteries.
Disconnected the car batter.
And of course followed the reset direction in the manual.
The fob kind of works. When I press the fob button I can hear the lock motors click and the interior lights come on. Also, if I manually lock the doors the fob will unlock the passenger side door.
Yes I’ve done the search but haven’t seen this type of problem. I did notice in one of the searches the question was asked if the PKE like comes on when the key was turned on…mine doesn’t
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Mike

The strange part is before this incident if I pressed and held down the button it would cycle in a couple of seconds. Now it takes a full 10 seconds to cycle.
Thanks for the help
Mike

Check and see if your door ajar switches are operating correctly.
If they stick or are (or becoming) electrically compromised, it can also cause the PKE to act up.
FYI, the door ajar switches send an electrical signal to the CCM, but the CCM sends digital signal to the PKE computer.
Also, the FOBs have a 'sleep' feature to conserve the battery.
The FOBs have a small ball bearing inside a small metal housing which if dirty will not 'wake-up' the FOB and could be causing the symptom of delayed operation.
If you open the FOB, you'll see the metal housing which can be carefully removed and the inside area cleaned (alcohol and q-tips).

Got it!
My hinges and door rubber are getting a little old. In fact in the cold temps the door will ajar when I leave my drive way in the morning. That’s my next area to repair this coming spring.
The fob is in pretty good shape. I had it rebuilt last summer.
Thanks for the suggestion
