Default Intake leak

Hey all, I have discovered a small leak on my intake manifold. The first sign was the hiss of steam after shutting the motor off. Second suspect was the small residue of coolent on the manifold. It is not a major concern right now. However, I would like to know how much time is involved in removing and replacing the gasket? As long as everything is off, do you guys recommend any other things?

Thanks,

If you haven't ever done it before probally 4-6 hours. It's not to difficult. Just a bit time consuming. While you have it apart you may want to clean the TB, manifold, runners, and plenium. Now would also be a go time to remove the extra bumps in the plenium.

Give yourself a full day if you have never done this job before.

Lots of little items have to come off in order to pull the lower intake.

BTW, the dealer charges about $400 - $500 for this job.

 In my recent experience, once it starts leaking, even a little, it isn't long before it leaks a lot!

If I were you, I would be prepared to move quickly on this

Well, you heard from all the quick at wrench people, now at the other end of the spectrum. I work slow (on my own time anyway), but it wasn’t prime drive'n time. Took me 3 weekends  but I like to take stuff off, look at it, marvel at it. Next thing you know, you want to have the injectors sent out for cleaning/tested, replace a few sensors and switches, repaint some valve covers, spiff things up, have a couple beverages in the evening and just stare at it  Oh! Wait, I digress. Ya, what the others said if you go it! :D
