i am having these lines manufactured. They are attached to the front right framerail between the fuel filter and the engine. The old rubber portion was questionable.I believe these lines provide for the engine movement hence the rubber portion. The Inlinetube people are unable to duplicate the disk thingy on one of the lines.
Therein lies my question. This disk thing appears to be a check valve. Can anyone describe WHAT it is and WHAT might be a negative affect operating without it? Please?
My picture posting has been problematic.I copied the URL from Snapfish so here goes:

Why won't the pic post?
There's your snapshot and you didn't mention year or engine so I wont guess. Which line is it in the inlet or the return? I don't recall!
Sorry.1989 coupe...My 87 has the same lines...They are separate. They both originate along the RH inner framerail. The lines BOTH convert to rubber lines then back at the fuel rail.THey MUST have the rubber portions to allow for engine movement. The disk thing is about 2" diameter with nothing attached to it.IT is inline on one of the metal portions.Maybe some sort of firestop? We have a regulator near the rear of the fuel rails already.
Just reinstalling the engine crossmember as i had it powdercoated and NOW is the chance to replace....STUFF

I always thought it was to eliminate the racket caused by the fuel pressure in the lines. I believe the correct terminology is "accumulator". Remove it? I can't tell you to with "first hand' knowledge - maybe others will comment. Inline is doing from your submitted samples or they say they have the correct dies to duplicate?

They cannot duplicate this accumulator.they feel it will work without it.Otherwise, what could I do? Or WHO makes it? This car is EXTREMELY difficult to restore.

I'm going to say it's fine to eliminate except that in your comments you mention "restore". Is it a restoration or are you just doing what you feel would make it more reliable? Your Inline product likely wouldn't pass the strictest NCRS inspections.
Reliable....robust...as it drove in '89.the engine/700r4 and MOST of the suspension and brakes are new.Trying to be thoughrough.paid $6500 and have also spent another $15k so far
