Next question AC clutch kit is $180 from GM parts direct. A reman compressor with clutch and 6 month warranty is $315. Would you guys go ahead and buy the compressor? The compressor is not locked up, I just don't want to pay somebody to go in there twice.

Re: AC Parts (93Polo)
If it were me, I would do JUST the clutch. You'll be spending more $ if you do more than just the compressor (dryer, orifice tube, freon, etc..) Others might not agree, but that's my personal opinion. Especially if it's not giving you any trouble.
On a side note, have you checked your A/C pressure switch? or is your clutch a definite problem?
AC Delco# 15-4623. About $200. Easy to replace with a strap wrench or oil wrench pliers to hold the outer hub while removing the shaft bolt. Then snap ring pliers to remove the snap rings holding the pulley and coil. Make sure to get the shim kit. You want about .020 between the outer hub and pulley.
The clutch is gone for sure. Now the switch I suppose could be gone too, but I don't think so. Dust is everywhere and it smoke for just a bit on the way home. I think I'm going to just do the clutch. It went out about 3 years ago. I NEED AC in the Hotlanta afternoon rushour traffic. Thanks for the advice guys.
