This summer I bought a 95, 6 speed, the cruise control did not work. The first thing I found was the vacuum hose from the cruise servo to the brake release valve was missing. I decided to wait till winter layup to replace the missing hose. The hose is now back in place.
Is there any way to do a static test to see if this is the only cruise problem. Its serious winter with deep snow so road test is not possible. The FSM does not tell of any static tests. Wondering if any of you has found a way to do a static (non driving test) ?
Sorry to say you are going to have to drive the car to check out cruise operation. To try simulate and check operation would be an enormous effort, almost impossible for the average person. The cruise gets inputs from the PCM, vehicle speed sensors and EBTCM (brake computer). There is just too much interaction between different systems of the car which activates the cruise that need to be satisfied.
Cruise can be activated at about 25 MPH.
Some of the biggest problem areas are the switches which close when the brake and clutch pedals are released. The brake switch had been the biggest area of repair. There is an adjustment for the switches if proper contact is not made. If the switch is bad, they can be fixed or replaced.
Fix different stuff, let the snow melt, then go for a ride. See what you have, it may all be OK.

Thank You, I figured as you shared. Who know why previous owners do the things to these cars. In this case removing the servo to brake release valve hose Duh ?
