Hi guys, 1985 Corvette, I purchased a Dorman Harmonic Balancer from Summit Racing that was for a 55-86 SBC. Do I have to punch out the weight in my old one and install it in the new one? They look a tiny bit different, same size and all, but I was just wondering if it already comes balanced. The person at Summit Racing told me that my since my motor is internally balanced, I would not have to punch out the weights and transfer them from the old one. Can anyone give me some advice?

Thank you!
The 85 is internally balanced. Summit Racing is correct.
First, from 55 thru 68 the timing mark aligned with the crank keyway. When the main journals got bigger in 68 it was shifted 10 degrees. To the best of my knowledge the balancer should be from 69 through 96.
Also, the weight on your old one was to balance the balancer. Your new one was probably CNC machined and didn't need the weight.
