Default tranny help

Have a 93 ruby--is the "late" 93 diff from the "early" 93 in regards to which trans was used & how to tell.

Are you referring to the ZF? If yes the number on the tag is the "only" identifier. 044 for the last three digits would be a 610 Nm and 046 would be a 540 Nm. There's no other identifier.

someone told me the serpentine belt differs from early vs late 1993--???

Early has a "double-sided" serpentine the later has a more conventional "single-sided" serpentine BUT in your original you mentioned trans - what did you mean?

Is this regarding the belt a "NEW" question? I don't see the relevance of the "serpentine to the trans type" - the two are certainly not related. Is the car an M6 or an A4?

There was NO early or late A4 transmissions for '93 Corvettes. Are you shopping for perhaps a transmission filter?

He didn't mention that until #5 but he's mentioned early and late a few times. I guessed that he's shopping for a trans filter package and he keeps getting asked the question "shallow/deep" and he's figured that's maybe early or late. The only early/late trans is the ZF and I mentioned that in my first response and he countered with the "serpentine question".

There's "no doubt" it was built as a 700R4/4L60. The OP hasn't for sure explained just what it is he's after.

Actually all 93's came with a 4L60 basically a renamed 700r4. The 4L60E did not come out in vettes until 94. It is electronic, requires a PCM instead of an ECM like your 93 has. Also, the E version does not have a TV cable going from the ASR down to the transmission like the 93 (4L60) has.
