Default Want to make a DIY

Hi,

I need to make a cable to scan my '91 Vette. Does anyone know if I can use this layout? I'd like to use TunerPro as it is free ...

Best wishes

You're better off just buying this. It's cheap. http://aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1u

That's what I would do if I would live in the USA but I guess a DIY-project could be faster than shipping to Germany and in addition it would give me a chance to learn something new ...

Problem with that circuit is it uses a RS232 serial interface which requires a serial port on your laptop which I doubt you have
( unless you own a pre '05 laptop ?)

The serial -USB adapters you can get have been mostly shown not to work with the ALDL signal

Wow, thanks for that link!

Serial post is not a problem. I can get a PCMCIA-Card with serial or use one of my employers laptop computers as we have a lot of dataloggers with RS232 ...
