Glass top

Just went out and found a large crack in the glass top to my 85 Corvette. Have not removed since bought. Only thing I did was wash it. Can these be replaced with hard top or do I have to stay with glass?

Sorry to hear about your top, Yes it can be replaced by a fiberglass (solid Top) You can find them in the Parts FS section or on E-Bay. Just paint it black if you can't find one the right color and it will give it the appearance of the acrylic see thu top.

The acrylic top can also be sent out and re-skinned. be sure to get one for the right years there was a mounting change in the later year C4's

Call your ins. co and see if covered. State Farm replaced mine when it cracked - less deductible.

Good advice and certainly worth a shot. Should be covered under comprehensive I would think.

They are not glass.

I picked up a replacement solid top for my 86 for a hundred bucks..with a pair of 86 vette valve covers thrown in. My glass top had a chunk missing when I bought the car.
