Compreasion normal range

Hi every one.

If I do a compression test on my cylinders. 1986 iron head vette.

what is consider a normal reading psi.. according to factory specs

Anything above 90 should run, but you are looking mostly for differences between cylinders. I would mostly think readings between 125-175 is average for a well used motor.

These are the readings I got on my car at 61,220 miles:

1 - 185 ... 2 - 140
3 - 190 ... 4 - 160
5 - 190 ... 6 - 170
7 - 185 ... 8 - 175

This is what I got at 90,317 miles (I forgot to block open the throttle):

1 - 160 ... 2 - 147
3 - 160 ... 4 - 155
5 - 170 ... 6 - 140
7 - 165 ... 8 - 155
