I own an 89 L98 with lots of mods from heads to exhaust and on................
I purchased a stage V chip from TPIS for $500 + had to have reburned a couple times at about $25 a rip + time w/o the chip. I read the article regarding burning chips and was wondering:
1. Which programmer / Eraser would be best for my year?
2. How difficult is it to do?
3. What programming/software is best?
I think I can do a better job and at a much lesser rate than TPIS.
Lastly, I'm located near the Albany, N.Y. area, is there anybody near by me that does chip burning for my vehicle, please drop me a message at
fredjr@nycap.rr.com
I would like to have some adjustments made to my chip w/o having the down tume of mailing back and fourth to whereever!
Thanks Again
FRED
I use flashable proms, so I don't need an eraser. I use tunercat to program and a pocket programmer to burn with. These can all be found on the internet. I don't think that it is all that difficult if you have a good understanding of computers and engines. It will however take a considerable amount of time and patience. Do your homework and you are half way home. Or half way up to your neck in ........ you know what I mean!! Good luck.
