Default Scan Tool

Is anyone here using the ScanTool 425801 OBDLink SX OBD-II Scan Tool USB Interface with OBDwiz Diagnostic Software? Pretty cheap on Amazon and looks like the reviews are favorable.

If not what is a good scan tool for the money?

You were shopping earlier for a C4 - what did you buy? At a glance this would be of value for a true OBD2 car. I doubt it's value for a C4 with just the OBD2 (16 pin) interface but still basically an OBD1 car.

Im using 2 different methods for scanning my 89..The first is the Datamaster program along with the connector cord from Moate's.. This is a program that you install on your laptop, it then connects to your car and shows about as much data as you can get from a OBD 1 system. It also has graphs that will show many of the funtions of the vehicle...This is by far the best setup for our cars with the most data shown...The second unit I have is the AutoXray 6000, this unit is good for OBD-1 and OBD-2 cars and is the most versatile of the two.. This unit shows alot of information plus you can do freeze frame and also download the info to your computer... I believe the Autozray is one of the best quality consumer units for the money, but the Datamaster program is the ultimate for our cars...Hope this helps........WW

This is what the screen on Datamaster looks like.....everything on the screen would be constantly moving to show updates....

TTS states on it's site that they do not sell the OBD1 cable anymore. But, they can be purchased from http://www.aldlcable.com/

I bought a 95. As I understand it, it has an OBD2 connector but is OBD1 or some say OBD1.5.

If you decide to go with Datamaster here is the page to buy the cable. They state about halfway down the page that this cable will work with the 95 OBD connection....
http://www.ttspowersystems.com/ALDL_cable.html

Here is the program download page, they list the (95 Y body) as the correct program for the 95 Vette.. You can download the program and use it 20 times free before you have to purchase it from them for $119.00....
