That location has the alt so high to clear the valve covers I'm not sure it would fit under the hood.
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to see what kind of room there is when I take the alt off. I've been surfing some third gen camaro belt routings to see other options.

The reversed alt placement like with superchargers is an option but requires a big bracket and it fills up space that is normally open, so would like to avoid that.
also on our corvettes you are restricted . the crank pulley is very close to the motor because of frame clearance.
c4 corvettes are a unique setup-short water pump and everything is pushed back closer to the motor and spread out.

This may not help a whole lot..but in my 86 I did an LT swap since it was easy and cheap and a buddy of mine had a mild build LT1, but I put relocated the alternator on the lower passenger side of the block when I did my swap, the only accesories I have are power steering, an alternator, and then a custom idler pulley I sourced out and got produced locally at a machine shop. I notched the passenger side A-arm mount so that it doesn't rub.
I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you made any progress with this? I'm trying to do the same thing...Thanks!
Hey sorry just seeing your post. No I never did anything different at this point, as Raidmagic pointed out, the clearance just wasn't there for where I wanted to put the alternator.
I plan on deleting AC at some point and will probably do the C3 water pump swap for that belt routing but not changing anything for awhile so I can keep driving it
