It's located between your air filter holder and the Throttle body, it's connected to a plastic rippled tube....Can't miss it, it's a round Black plastic tube about 6 inchs long with a clamp at both ends.., it has a plug going to the bottom of it..Sorry, I don't have a picture handy...Let me just say ( be very careful with this piece, it has a very thin wire inside and if you break this wire your screwed) ....Make sure if you clean it to use (Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner) you can't use anything else.......WW

PS...Here you go, I did find a picture for you.....WW

If you are getting MAF codes, replace the two relays behind the battery first. If you do end up needing a MAF, you'll need to replace em anyway. Together they are like $20.

There is a test procedure available to determine the problem if you have the manual. If not, we can pull up the PDF of the procedure depending on the code you have.

i'm not a fan of cleaning this unit,it's very sensitive the thin wire and the sensing tab is coated with a thin film ,use the wrong product to clean it and you'r screwed:600 $ for a new unit 300 $ for a remanufactured...

Leave the MAF alone, and replace the relays behind the battery. On an 87 they are 14089936.... some if the best money you can spend on an early C4.

One, the burn off relay, even cleans the MAF by heating up the wire to burn off contaminants.
