Hard starting 89 c4
The last 2 fuel fill ups the car has been hard to start after filling. Starts easy after it sets overnight or after setting 4 or 5 hours at work. To start it after the fill up i have had to let it set about 10 minutes and then hold the accelerator to the floor and crank it say 20 or 30 seconds. As soon as it starts it runs fine. Any ideas?

Almost sounds like vapor lock. The next time you fill up, before you start it the next day, pop the hood, find the schrader valve on the fuel rail and "purge it". If there is a lot of pressure, the return to the gas tank may be stopped up. If there's no pressure, put a guage on it and turn the key to "on" and make sure pressure builds quickly. It could very well be the fuel pump.

I had a similar problem to this... Originally, I had the Bosch/LPE pump that didn't hold up too well..though it NEVER gave me a hard time starting. I then went to an LT-1 pump and it was defective from the get-go. Finally, I have EASY starts with the vortec truck unit suggested by 18carfan aka Jeff Kopp@Superior Chevrolet(who also cut me a great deal on the pump).
Try the simpler things(in this case a fuel pump in and out can be done in under an hour) before going to the harder one's. Good luck and let us know what you find.
