Default Miniram Porting Question

Hey Guys. I Have A 1204 Miniram, I'd Like To Port It To 1205, But I Want To Use It With The AFR 195 Heads. AFR's Website Says Not To Port Match The Manifolds.

Does Anyone Know If I Will Run Into Problems Doing This?

Thanks!

Unless you go all the way through on the intake and enlarge the whole runner to 1205 size, waste of time to port match to the head IMO. Maybe AFR was meaning to not change the port shape on the head to match the manifold? 1204 port intake on a 195 head not an ideal situation if you ask me.....

I just happen to have my intake off. When I put a 1205 gasket on the 195 heads, the gasket is a little wider than the head ports. The height of the port and gasket looks the same. This may be what AFR is talking about. You wouldn't want to port match to the gasket because the manifold port would then be wider than the head port.

I would buy 1204 and 1205 gaskets and see which lines up best. I suspect the 1205 will work fine.

Can you measure the port? I'd like to see if it would be okay to port match to a 1256. Thanks!

1204 and 1256 are the exact same size.

Hmm. Okay. It appears that it would be possible to port it to 1205, but not anymore than that.

My local machine shop quoted me $125 last time I talked to them.

Maybe someone with a 1205 Miniram will chime in and we can see if the port size on a Miniram is exactly a 1205.
