power effects question
how do you like it?
i know it is adjustable but am not quite sure how it works like that
do you have to get out of and under your car to adjust it?
do you do it from inside your car? how loud does it get?
loud as muffler eliminators?
how quite does it get? quite as stock?
thanks for any input!

Now for the answers to your questions: I really love this system. It has an extremely bass-like tone which has been described by others as sounding like a big-block engine. The build quality on it is fantastic, and the company is top-notch when dealing with customers.
To adjust the system, there are 2 red ***** on your "mufflers". In PE terms, they call these Power capsules. You turn it in one direction to open, and the other direction to close. You have a total of 6 different positions to choose from from completely open to completely closed and somewhere in between.
When at the loud setting (aka open), they sound great. I have some resonance in between 1800 and 2200 RPM. Some of that may disappear with the LT1/4 resonator, but alas I don't have one of those. I wouldn't consider it ridiculously loud, but it is louder than many other exhausts that I've seen. I can't make any speculation about muffler eliminiators because I've never had them on my car or heard them on anyone else's.
When closed, I'd say that it's slightly louder than stock, but much less than the loud setting. In other words, the adjustments give you a LOT of flexibility for tuning as well as personal preferences about the sound.
They've been talking about a remote control option which would let you switch the settings from within the car. It's never come to fruition so far. Frankly, you can reach the ***** very easily. Not sure who would want the remote option.
Hope some of this was helpful. Feel free to ask other questions, and some of the other PE brothers and sisters on the forum should have more answers.

can you put in on different size pipes? or just the stock 2 3/4" size?

As for the sound, it sounds like a Vette should...lower rumble at idle, throaty roar at acceleration. PE system is not cheap, but it is worth the money.
I had chrome tips once (not on PE system, but Flowmasters). The chrome discolored after 2 years. I've been turned off from chrome ever since. Polished might look cool though.

I first bought the L98 cat back part number for my 1991 L98 vette a few years back. It's consist of the capsules, y-pipe and the adapter that turns the y-pipe inot the single L98 3" pipe. It bolts right up to the stock converter. Paid $839.00 plus S/H. I simply love the system. Great quality compared to what's out there. They bolted right up and lined up perfectly.
You can really feel the torque difference between having the flaps fully open and closed.
Sold my 1991 and took the PE's off before I got rid the vette. I bought 1996 CE LT4 last year. Had the PE's in my shed for about a year. I called Joe last year to find out how much the additional LT1/4 resonator would be. Could not see spending $400-$500 more for the other half of the system. So it sat in my shed. It was driving me nuts not having the PE's on my 96 LT4. One shop wanted $250-$350 to cut the pipes at the resonator and weld the PE system on. Way too much for me right now. But still had that itch. So little me took some pipe measurements of the stock pipes coming out of the stock LT4 resonator and compared it to the PE pipe size.
Dayum! The PE y-pipe will slide right over the stock pipe snugly. Here is a short brief on how I did it.
Take a measurement on where the pe's will meet the resonator pipes. Mine measured around 10.5 inches. I slide the PE's under the stock system to compare around where it needs to sit.
Remove the stock mufflers along with the stock resonator. You can leave the cats connected to the car.
Cut the resonator pipe at the marked measurement. Slide the PE and resonator together. If it way too snug to slide on you can either tap them together or expand the PE pipe slightly with a pipe expander. That will allow you to adjust if needed.
Mine is as solid as a rock. I decided band clamps were good enough to hold it together. That way I can take the PE's back off if I ever sell the vette.
I really use the adjustability of the capsules alot. Fully closed on most autocross course so that i have my torq back. Fully opened if I run at the 1/4 mile tracks. Fully closed when going on laid back corvette cruise through the mountains. Have opened when cruising around town. If I add headers or remove my cats i can adjust the sound level to what ever I like if it's too loud or not loud enough.
No other system is as flexable as the PE's.
