Cutting Welded Mufflers Off
I want to get and install the Magnaflow mufflers on my car, but I can't do it myself since they are welded together. How much should a shop charge me to cut the old LT1 mufflers off and install the new ones? What will the pipes look like after being torched? Can I save the LT1 mufflers, or will I lose them after cutting them off? TIA

Had this done a few weeks ago.
It is worth the time to get more estimates. I got offers from 60 to 130$.
It was finally made by a Meineke shop for 80$.
They have got the right tools and the whole procedure takes them about 45 minutes.
If your old muffler is still ok I would keep it.

Had mine done at a Meineke for @ $50. They used a sawzall so I can sleeve the pipes and reinstall the stock LT1 mufflers if I ever want to.

I did it myself..5 minutes with a hack saw and they're off, use some flexy exhaust pipe and connect up the new mufflers..or in my case straight pipes.
