Corbeau seat install
Put the new A4 seats in my '96 yesterday. I'd ordered them with the adapter/sliders. When they came, I discovered that the A4's will fit in the car on the original power seat bases......not without fabricating some aluminum adapters, though.
Took me one full day of measuring, fabricating, trial fitting, etc. but they are in the car and look great. Now I have about $200 worth of Corbeau adapter/sliders that I don't need.
I can make a pair of these adapters for less than one Corbeau adapter/double slider and they weigh about 1/10 of the Corbeau's. If any of you are considering putting A4's in your C4, and want to keep the stock power bases, PM me and I can give you the info on the aluminum adapters.

The A4's on the power bases are about 1.5" higher than the stock seat.
I have 2" of clearance between my head and the solid roof in the lowest position.
The A4's are a few pounds more than the stock seat (the stock seats themselves are extremely light). If you throw out the stock power bases, use the A4's with the Corbeau slider/adapters, you'll lose a few pounds because the power bases are heavy.
My aluminum adapters go all the way across the power seat base and the design drops the rear of the seat 3/4" over Dan's design. This is important because the seat needs all the room you can give it.
