Default LTPWS question

I want to put new tires and rims on the car, but without the sensors inside the tires - what do I have to do to keep the idiot light from telling me i need to service the LTPWS system?

I plan to keep the stock wheels and tires (with sensors) so I can swap them at any time - will this be a problem - can I have it so the system works when I have the rims with sensors and not works when I dont have the sensors?

How?

You need to pull the Service LTPWS bulb.

Pretty much, unless you pull the fuse. Unfortunately, this will disable your cruise control as well.

Most go with pulling the fuse.

Takes 10 minutes total to pull the bulb. At least you'll still have cruise control this way.

You could do what I did , Buy a driver info. cover that say CORVETTE , LT1 ect. sold by MID AMERICA and put some black tape on the light Then install the cover . The covers are tinted so you can't see the tape unless you look closely. :seeya

Pull the bulb...it's real easy. Put the parking brake on and car in neutral. Remove the two screws in the center storage area, one under the ash tray, unplug the ash tray light and shift indicator light, two screws at the base of the front panel that goes over the radio, A/C and DIC and two for the vent on top of the DIC and two screws behind the vent at the top. Pull the front panel towards you. The DIC now sits in front of your eyes, remove the screws and pull the bulb and reassemble...10 minute job. Just remember to put the shift fork back on the indicator.
