Bose Front Box removal?
I even thought about busting up the plastic box in the door and pull it out in pieces.
How are you guys getting these out?
I had a bad shreek coming from my one speaker so I just disconnected it. I still would like to get a new system put in it. That bose stuff really SUCKS!
Worst stereo I have ever seen in a car. Wish I could put my Jeep Grand Cherokees stereo in my vette. Perhaps the General could take a lesson from Chrystler in that department.
separate the the top of the box(inside the door) to get my speaker out.
It still sucked and i loosened up everything i could. I had to rotate
the box while in the door to get to all the screws that hold the
box together. It was worth my time to solder new capacitors on the
boards as it does sound ALOT better!!!!!

remove the bolts holding the box to the door. push the box in, it requires a little pressure, has sealent between box and door. now you can rotate the box and remove all the screws that hold the box together ( it's constructed of two halves) after which i used a snap-on air saw to cut the box into pieces and slide them out of the space between the door and the center plate. I was given info for removal from Crutchfield, but it's a joke, the box will never slide between the plate and the door, even in half it's too big. which you will see.
This method is fairly easy compared to disassembly of the entire door. I'm using 61/2's in the door, but you can probably install larger if you want to resize the square hole. I chose the 61/2's so i could simply use the existing bose grills. HAVE FUN!!! hope this was of help to you.
