Looks like I will be down about one additional week, I got the new coilovers installed but there is a clearance issue with the rear shock mount. I spaced out the shock mount but that was not enough so I also spaced out the shock. I did not like extending the shock that far out and was concerned with stress on the shock and the knuckle. Naturally EM sells control arms with heim ends that have more than enough clearance. Once I got to looking at them I also get to looking at the toe rod kit and the camber rod kit, all of it heim joints. It is very obvious how smooth the suspension will work with all the components so I bit the bullet again and ordered the stuff.
Downtime is no big deal yet here, the roads are layered with salt so I would not take the car out anyway.
Boy, those are beefy. Sure won't have any flex there. According to EM I will have to use the recommended two washers on the shock only and that I will have the clearance needed. I sure hope so. I thought I was going to be okay with just turning the bolt around, then I found out the bolt will not come out unless I take the knuckle off. A little work with a small wheel grinder and two new bolts kept me from that misery and I STILL had to grind a little off the head of the bolt. IIRC I checked with Van Steel first but they don't make anything for the early C4, but I may be thinking of someone else.
