Was it transmission fluid? Which end of the driveline? Rear end? Was it just on the driveline? Any on the bottom of the transmission pan? Need a little more information ........

If it isn't blowing back from the engine, then the only thing that comes to mind in that area is the rear transmission seal. Did you smell the fluid? If it has a burnt smell, it's probably trans. fluid. Any tail tale drips on the garage floor? Also, there is a speed sensor in that area on the box that it may be coming from. Just a couple of thoughts....Oh yea..if the u-joint has zerts on it, sometimes the grease gets hot enough to liquidify and run out. Usually in hot weather and sitting around in a hot garage.....

Absolutey....but there is usually a tell -tail drip on the tail shaft @ drive line after the car has been sitting a while..... which indicates a bad rear trans. seal. If it is, it is not a hard job to fix.
