Check for voltage on both sides of the CTSY/CLK fuse. Ground one lead of your meter and probe both of the test points on the fuse. There should be 12 volts there all the time, even with the ignition off.
The CTSY/CLK fuse supplies power to a lot of places (the interior lights, for one), so if a bunch of things stop working at the same time it's highly likely that fuse is open. One place it supplies is the cigarette lighter socket, so putting something in there that draws too much current will blow the fuse.
