Default Lets play "Name that Header!!"

I posted a wanted thread on my local Craigslist for a set of cheap, used SBC headers so I could use them on a test stand while I break in my cam instead of using my new ceramic coated Elite's on it.

I got a couple responses from guys that had "shorty" headers they'd sell, but held off hoping for a set of full length (would make putting mufflers on it cheaper/easier). I had a response from a guy locally that said he had a set of new, unused SBC Headmans w/ reducers, but he wasn't sure what they would fit other than they were SBC, so I picked them up this morning. Thinking every Hedman header I've seen has the model # stamped on the flange, and I'd just look it up.

They look like they have been sitting for a while, and don't appear to be used before, but they don't appear to be Hedmans. From some images I can find from Google, it looks like they may be Blackjacks, which I believe were bought out by Dynomax.

I would like to find out what they were designed to fit for when I go to re-sell them after I use them on the test stand. I cannot find any stampings on them to indicate manufacturer, and the only stampings I can find are on the collectors. One is stamped "209", and one is stamped "1209" with a "3" below. I can't seem to match up the stamping numbers with any manufacturer.

Does anyone have any clue as to what make/model they are?

Thanks,

Carl

I would think it also important to post a snapshot of the port configuration. Flowtech used a flange that has similar appearance also. The dimensions of the ports might also be useful.

I'll measure them this afternoon when I head out to my barn.

Thanks.

The do look like Blackjack/DynoMax headers. You might try calling DynoMax to see if they can come up with a correct application given the stamped numbers.

I looked at this Jeg's page and the pic I see is a match for your right-side header. DynoMax p/n 85001

Look at this set for a pick-up truck:

I believe the Flowtech images are of their specific packages and not just a "stock" image. Jegs I'd think just a "stock" image maybe.

Here's a link to the entire Flowtech line:

I'm not saying they're Flowtech but I'd say they're done on the same set of tools!

Yes, it is difficult to tell what is a stock photo or the actual header for that application. But from what I can see, you are right about the x1500 Flowtech's. If I put in a '75 Chevy P.U., SBC, on a couple online stores, the Flowtech 11500's show up. (the 31500 are the same ones, but ceramic coated)

I'll e-mail them next week and see what they say.

Thanks guys!
