When I bought my '87 someone else has already taken the intake apart. Now that I've fixed the engine (spin bearing), I'm trying to figure out the PCV routing. What I have is a couple of aluminum pipes, some elbows, and other pieces of tubing. If someone has a picture of how the PCV and the vent in the other valve cover are connected, that would be great.
The driver side has the PC Valve itself, with hose running over the valve cover to a pipe that's run along the cover inside edge to a rubber coupler to a nipple in the intake. About middle on intake...
the passenger side is straight forward, BUT, there is a 2nd fitting on the TB that has hose running under the plenum (I rerouted mine to go to fan shroud and over) to the charcoal can and its maze of plumbing.
You should buy the FSM to see ALL the vac lines and all the misc wiring and hoses and how/where they run. Next will be the vac check valve behind the dist that feeds the AIR system, cruise and cabin feed line.
The PCV valve has a short hose that connects to the aluminum tube. The aluminum tube attaches to a hose barb on the intake manifold with 7/16" ID rubber tubing.
I remodeled the intake clutter on mine and ran the 3rd hose from the TPS side of the TB, over to the frame along the a/c lines, then secured it to the cross member by the fan motor over to the charcoal canister...Much better with less junk stuffed under the TB and plenum. Also moved the EGR solenoid to the backside of the AIR pump so the vac hose could be accessed anytime for testing the EGR.
