95 coupe starter clunk problem
So my original starter that I had replaced the solenoid contacts on previously developed an odd problem....
When you first turn the key the starter would just clunk once and not rotate the engine. On the second try it would always turn the engine over then start.
So I thought it was something other than the contacts like possibly a bad winding in the rotating field so I purchased and installed a Delco rebuilt starter.
Still have the clunk when I first turn the key.
Any ideas what to check next...stumped
Was thinking ignition switch or neutral safety switch....probably ignition switch as it is subject to wear from constant use.
