crankshaft positioning sensor

Any feedback on replacement of the cps when code comes up for cps? hard for the average handyman car owner? special tools? cost from a qualified mechanic? Thanks

the hard thing is (1) getting the car up on blocks high enough to slide under; the Crankshaft position sensor is on the passenger side of the lower portion of the timing chain cover and (2) cleaning all the accumulated grime off of it; removal is a one bolt affair, not hard after everything is clean and you can see what you're doing.

when you reinstall it, or a new one, run the wires as far away as possible from the spark plug wires; too close, or worse, through the spark plug wires can induce a false signal
