Default need electrical help.....

We have an 86 that has 59,900 original miles. Recentley the volt gauge started running low i.e.12.3 or so and the car started running rough only at idle. I replaced the battery and the alternator and have had them both re-checked to make sure there good. What am I missing? The code scanner shows no codes but the voltage still drops and the car runs rough. Any thoughts? please respond, stressed....

Have you checked the alternater output with a meter while in the car and running? Checked belt for slippage?

Check your wires. Badly corroded wires or loose ground wires could cause that problem. Also, I know it's simple, but another forum member didn't get the plug in all the way in the alt. and was getting low voltage. Check all the little things as well.

R94 & Gbody,
Thanks for your help. The car has been sitting for a while. I will check out the connections and also try to verify voltage at the alternator.
Thanks again,
Joe
