Default 87 Corvette Injector Replacement

Would anyone have a link to or a procedure or diagram? We replaced four injectors and it turned out to be quite a job for us with 3 manifold bolts left over after finishing the job along with one screw that looks like it went to the fuel rail. During reassembly it did not appear that we were missing any places where these bolts and screw needed to go so we have to take everything a part again and make sure everything is put back together properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

can't imagine anyone changing only 4..... sounds like you missed one of the two lateral screws on the inside of the fuel rail...corvette central has lots of c4 videos on how to...also an internet search for c4 fuel injector removal will give up some good vids on the project....got a factory manual?....you should get one....makes it a lot easier...

First BUY THE FSM and have a GUIDE !

its only $100 and the books will help solve ALL your future mechanical issues.

ALWAYS pull the plenum, then the runners get loosened, and have new O-rings for the rails.

It takes 30 minutes to pull apart. Place pieces in zip loc bags as they come apart. Label.

Rebuild rails, set inj in manifold with vasoline as lube then set the rail on and SNAP in place.

NEVER EVER just do 1 or 4. Replace injectors in full sets.

Buy the FSM...NOT a $19 chiltons book....a REAL FSM that's got EVERY detail of a corvette within its pages...
That alone would guide you thru the process successfully.

Good luck

Thank you all for the great advice and helpful information. We will be starting on it again later this week. Great head start from your posts! Should have a smooth running engine again.

Cheers!

Pull the throttlebody, plenum, and passenger side runner. Fuelrail can then be removed. Reverse order back together. Some don't remove the runner, and disassemble rails in place, so there's another option.

There are three different length plenum and runner Torx bolts.

The 4 long ones go in the center below the runners into the intake manifold.

The 2 medium length bolts go in "backwards" from the intake manifold center area and into the runners, one on each side. There's one on the front passenger side and one on the rear driver's side.

The short bolts go everywhere else.

- basically, you need to fit the bolt lengths to the runner tubes. there are different flange lengths or thickness cast into the air tubes, but in a nutshell, each bolt should have a tad over 5/8" protruding that threads into the plenum or intake. just play around with the bolt placement - the (bolt) lengths should fall into place. the same holds true (5/8") for the two bolts that install from the inner side of the intake.
