Why do people always want more performance? Is it to go faster than the other guy? Bragging right or so people will play this song and think of you when see you?
I had one in my 85....150 bucks....made no difference.....hotter now with a stock chip and real mods....I'll bet you can get one off craigs list for ten bucks....lots have tried them....lots of posts how they don't work.... keeping mine in a box in the garage to remind me about dumb A.. Attacks]
Years ago I had a Honda motorcycle that I modified. It seemed like whatever I did made it go slower. I finally realized that the engineers did a pretty good job of making it as fast as possible right out of the box.
I never touched my '86 for years because I was racing in a pure stock class and didn't want to get bumped up into a higher class where there was a lot more competition. If you didn't mod your car to the max the rules allowed you weren't competitive. Now that it's my daily driver I leave it alone because I see no point in spending a lot of money for little gain. It's fine just the way it is.
I went to a car show yesterday and saw a brand new C7 that had a checkered flag license frame. Some people just have this weird urge to "improve" their cars. It's a sickness that can't be cured... ;-)
pcm4less knows GM's like the backs of their dongs if you need custom tuning. I wouldn't do it for a bone stock Corvette of our era though. The c5+, yes I would.
95 has a PCM that must be reflashed, it doesn't have a chip to insert.
No these mass marketed chips do nothing for you, they may reset fan temps but that is not worth the expense.
You need serious mods to require a reprogramming.
Contact Ed Wright at FAST Chip ... http://www.fastchip.com/ ... he is very knowledgeable and can give you whatever you need when it comes to performance chips
