Sounds like you're finding the problem. My 89 only has one wire on the sensor behind the dip stick. This sensor is used to turn the fan on when it senses an overtemp situation, as an override to the ECM's control of the fan. My manual doesn't explain that second wire and it may lead back to the ECM. This second wire may be fooling the ECM somehow into thinking the temp is very high.

If someone else knows more about this second wire please chime in. I'm sure Marlon would like to know more, me too.

Thank you and please yes I would like to know about this second wire ,It does not look like factory at all it is a black wire with a white mark on it and it goes by it self to the inside of the vette but I don`t know where it is hooked in the inside but tomorow I will give it a look,by the way it is hooked on the side of the sensor with a small slider connector ,.. :confused: ......where you think it is hooked on the inside of the vette ,,so I will have a clue where to look for :confused: ? well thank you all for your help THANK_YOU :flag
