Yes - you would substitute a 2 Ohm resistor for the air bag at the bottom of the column or you could do it at the top of the column if you planned on leaving the coil in place. 1/4 watt is what is most frequently mentioned. They're not that easily found but a custom audio, seat replacement shop or an air bag repair service should have plenty of them. Needs to be 2 Ohm and not something close.
You didn't mention year but if it's an earlier one it would also put out the seat belt warning in the cluster.
