Harmonic balancer 1986 automatic

can someone recommend a replacement harmonic balancer for my 383 stroker engine. I guess after 25 years it slipped

I used the Summit balancer, (for external balance 383), its SFI rated for $142,
part number SUM-C4266

But as asked above ;
is your stroker crank Int or Ext (400 ci based ) balance ?

Big difference in the balancers

I dont think im savy enough to know. I had the machine shop build it years ago. I will see if i can still get ahold of him.

Did the crank come from a factory 400? if it's an OEM factory 400 it is externally balanced harmonic balancer. 25 years ago aftermarket cranks were just coming out if I remember right.

If you pull the harmonic balancer and inspect the back it will be symmetric if internally balanced, and not if external.

also its the stock dampner that originally came with the car. When the engine build was complete he used the same one. It has no weights on it and looks stock. THe guy who told me it was int balanced was the apprentice so I really don't know since the machinist is out of town.
