If it's like mine, you power it on, turn the ignition on (but don't start it) and hit "scan". It should come back with "scan successful". After that you can get the codes or read the operational parameters in real time (RPM, O2 values, cross counts, injector pulse width, etc).
You hafta enter info 1st to set it up to scan. I have the same scanner and its the OBD1 bomb. Heres what you have to do to start.
1) Press CONFIG. Use the UP or DOWN key to Select 1, 2 or 3 to set up the spot for your car. Then press CONFIG again.
2) The display will show manufacturers. Select GM using the NEXT or BACK key then press CONFIRM/ENTER. THe display will advance to the final step.
3) Select the 8th number of your car's VIN and press CONFIRM/ENTER.
4) You will see the car's description displayed and IIRC you will have to enter "Y" for Corvette.
5) If thats all you want to configure for now, press CONFIG/ENTER.
At this point you are ready to go. Plug 'er up and turn the key to on, engine off press SCAN and thats it to check for codes. You can start the car and use the MON key to capture data from various sensors or review the info at a later time. It will capture 14 seconds of info to display. At that point just scroll to get your info.
Good luck and get scannin!
Oh and dont forget to remove the batteries if its going to sit for a long time. You will lose all stored data but its better than getting corrosion all in your scanner.

Thanks Guys, i really appreciate all your help...It's great to have a Forum that helps a Guy like me.. I don't like paying a Shop $85 an hour just because i have not tried to fix it myself.
Thats what its all about. Ask when you need and contribute when you have answers. This is a great place and I have received more answers and info than the law allows.
