Went to fire up my 91 L98 for its first Spring drive and cranked but did not fire. Relatively new injectors, plugs and wires, distributor over the winter along with a new fuel pressure regulator. I had also put in a new water pump, EGR/AIR delete along with a degreasing of the engine bay and general clean up.
I had good fuel pressure and spark and a new battery. It turned over but would not fire at all. Very discouraging. I rented a Noid light set from Auto Value and found no pulse to the injectors. I'm thinking my Memcal is bad. Pulled out the FSM and went through the flow chart. It advised to check the fuses for the injectors, computer and air bag. AIR BAG?!!! Wtf!. I had not replaced the air bag fuse after removing the steering wheel to do some work on my instrument panel.
I put the fuse back in and she started right up. Who would have thought the car would cut power to the injectors if the air bag was disabled???
I did a road test and everything works fine
Sounds like they don’t want you to drive the car without the air bag for safety. So was GM looking out for us. Or, they just took advantage of pulling power from a fuse.

The FSM isn't worth "squat" if it's not used - your purchase of the FSM just paid for itself "AGAIN"!
