High Performance Driving Experience
I own a 1984 Corvette 4 plus. the car is stock. Raceway Park Englishtown NJ has a road course and I am most probably take the car to that course. My big question is "will/can the cars oiling fail during cornering?" I owned a 69 Big Block and it cavitated and subsequently lost a bearing. Granted I do not think the car is going to pull a whole G through the corners. But, Do the C4s oiling system handle cornering better than say my 69 BB. Should I be installing a windage tray. I am open to suggestions. thank you all.

Since the car was designed to pull high "G"s on a road course I should think there would be no issue on that Englishtown course but am not sure of the oil pan design internals.

When I built my '84 engine, I was very impressed with the design of the windage tray, the oil pan baffles, and the internal swinging panels for oil control! I was also questioning whether I could make any improvements, but I couldn't find any way to improve on the stock Corvette system! These '84's were designed to pull over 1 g corners, but trying to pull 1 g is really tough! That gets really uncomfortable! I usually bang my head on the roof frame when I try that, but occasional "drifting" is exciting!!
