Are there any options besides the GM 30/26mm bars? Is this the largest available and are larger bars than this even needed? I know for the C5 you can get 36mm front bars. Who has good prices on these, should I try to find some used at a salvage yard?
Also what kind of bushings and links? Polygraphite, polyurethane, etc , heim links?
I want something that will be very flat in the corners, firm ride is OK.
If you are going to go with the GM larger bars, order them new from Jeff Kopp. I got both bars and all bushings for around $200 shipped. When they are that cheap, ne need in trying to find used ones.
I am happy with my bars also. They are the Z51 units.
Best bars are a recipe. It's important that the front and rear be tuned for the weight of your car. Generally you'll find the best combo by starting with the beefiest rear bar you can get, then increase the front until the car is nuetral (no over or under steer). For C4s with L98 or LT1/4 the biggest rear bar you can find is the 26mm solid bar. The front bar that gives the most nuetral cornering is the 30mm solid. Someone is selling a 32mm front bar, but without a bigger rear bar, the car will push through the corners.
If someone made a 28mm solid rear bar, then it you'd need a bigger front bar to get the car nuetral, but right now all you can get is 26mm.
New GM 30mm/26mm solid bars are cheap. I paid less than $250 for new bars and poly bushing.
I've got the poly bushing for the bars and endlinks. There are better endlinks out there, I think Exotic has some solid end links (heim links?), but they cost.
