NOS says optimum pressure to be 900-950 psi. Ok, I dynoed at 900 psi and got 147 hp out of a 150 shot .067 jet. My q is, how much extra hp is there in pressure. What I mean is,when the weather is warm and I get home from work and wanna go for a blast around town, how much more of a shot is it at say, 1100 psi? That seems to be the magic number after sitting in my garage all day. To purge the pressure down would waste too much nitrous.
It probably won't stay at 1100 very long when you nail it. You are gonna be leaner, but the question is how much leaner. I've run alot at 1100 psi and never had a problem. The only way to know would be with an egt sensor or the data logged from your pcm. You could look at your 02 sensor voltages. Most nitrous companies are pretty conservitave with the setups they use because they know stuff like this is gonna happen. It comes back to common sense.
I usually run my bottle at about 1100-1150psi. By the end of a 1/4 mile run it's down around 900psi. More PSI = more nitrous meaning a bigger "hit" from the same size jet.
:nono: Ok, I'm here posting for 95AquaC4, he's at work. I have to apologize to red-y for him, it seems that red was right with his numbers and Aqua was wrong with his. It looks as if when he had his car dynoed, he did indeed have the 150 shot, .067 jet in, and he thought that it was a 100 shot, .061 jet. It was a slight oversight by both himself and the tuners at the shop. I just wanted to se it straight, per Aqua's request as not to have anyone annoyed at him  See ya! :seeya
It takes more than that to annoy me. Besides I knew I was right, I have had too much trouble with my install. Makes me want to start up a speed shop and do it right. Some of these guys are idiots...
red-y, yeah it looks as though I'll be staying with the 150 shot. NOS tech said that honestly the kit I have does not jet down to 100 very well. Besides, it sounds more bad azz to tell someone 150 than 100! :D And, if and when it blows up,a 383 stroker will be the remedy!!
Go for it.. I am changing to a wet system. Since the 93 does not have a mas air sensor the dry system does not hit. I am using an injector plate rather than spraying into the intake hose or whatever you call it. Staying with 125 HP but will probably end up at 150. You know how it is...
